    Catalog Description

    This course gives the student the opportunity to apply a modern software language or program development tool to end-user problems. The student will acquire a working knowledge of an advanced programming language or program development tool. 

    Course Objectives

    In five years, students will be able to:

    1. Connect database concepts when developing a business application

    2. Utilize the internet to find new techniques in programming

    3. Apply programming to everyday life to solve problems

    4. See the value in learning programming and how it can help business

    5. Become more confident in their programming skills and what programs can do

    6. Work in a team to develop business solutions using Python

    7. Understand basic key terms like variables, constants, functions, and loops

    Required Text

    No textbook required. We will be using ChatGPT for content. 

    Grading (1000 possible points)

    Module Notebooks (7 x 40) 28% — 280 points 

    Module Assignments (7 x 60) 42% — 420 points

    Final Project 20% — 200 points

    Final Exam 10% — 100 points
